| Eva, Little | Born in 1944 in Belhaven, NC. Real name was Eva Narcissus Boyd. Was a baby-sitter for songwriters Carole King and her husband Gerry Goffin. Recorded their "Loco-Motion" in 1962. Had four hits in 1962 and 1963. Returned to Belhaven in 1971 and lived off welfare, food stamps and Medicaid. Lived in a mobile home and government housing complex. In early '80s was working as a waitress at Hanzie's Grill. Was found in 1987 by People Magazine and got into the music business again. Has been touring the world since. |
